Heaton Hall is an immense Grade I listed building in Heaton Park, Manchester. There is currently some refurbishment going on, and today there was the opportunity to look inside on one of the infrequent Open Days. It must be 30 years or more since we've seen inside so it was a great chance to have a new look. As an added bonus, we got to go beyond a normally closed door and have a peek at some of the behind the scenes areas, including an incredible old wooden stairway. Last time we were here it was a Pentax MX and black and white film, but this time it was the Pentax K-1 and the SMC Pentax-F 17-28mm Fisheye Zoom. I close the full frame fisheye in anticipation of some sweeping interiors.
After the exploration it was down to the stables for a cheeseburger and ginger beer, just the ticket as we were starting to feel Slightly Peckish. Sue had a chicken burger and Vimto.....But enough of the catering details, here's a selection of images:
I was certainly glad I chose to take the K-1 as the light levels were very low. It needed crazy ISO settings to enable hand held shooting.
