We're just back after a holiday in Lincolnshire, a week of houses, castles, gardens, wildlife centres.....and I was thinking about how I tend to be looking for the detail rather than the overall scene. Obviously there are exceptions, but everywhere there are so many tiny parts of the whole that make for fantastic photo opportunities. A cornice, a plant pot, an archway, whatever it is could be a superb subject. I've only just started processing images, but here's a few examples of what I have so far. The locations are Belton House and Grimesthorpe Castle, the latter providing an exception by being the whole scene.
