In our home, we have a saying that goes "did you look like a Mummy looks?" and this goes back a long way as the kids could never find anything but Sue certainly could. So kids and adults get the same question even today when something goes astray. Out and about, the tables can quite often be turned, but not always. Sue is best at finding fungi, I'm best at finding interesting, often quirky things that most people just walk past. It is fantastic to spot something that turns out to be a great photographic subject, and today's visit to Arley Hall and Gardens yields a perfect example. I will confess that today was not the first time I had spotted this, but as I shot a more considered image, using a tripod and doing the job properly, I can present it as a valid example. This ancient, weathered lock is on a garden gate, concealed by greenery and not at all obvious. So let's keep that sharpness not only to images, but also to the photographic eye, spotting all sorts of minor treasures as we explore.
