Owls in the Woods

Not the 100 acre wood, but the woodland that houses the delightful Rutland Owl and Falconry Centre. This place was absolutely fantastic, set in beautiful natural woodland and enabling us to get really close to the birds. The weather was wet, but if anything that enhanced the experience, giving that special glow to the light. Many of the birds were in the open, so photography was much easier. Backgrounds needed to be watched, but with care good clean shots could be found.

This was one of the best £5-worths we have had, without any doubt.

Historic Tyldesley - The Technical College

There is a road sign that says "Welcome to Historic Tyldesley" or something similar, and for a while we scratched our heads wondering what excatly was historic about Tyldesley. Well, slap on the hand for us, because there are plenty of things that w...

Buile Hill Greenhouse - Progress Report

We were down at Buile Hill Park in Salford today, just to see how the mansion and the Greenhouse were getting along. The mansion is under restoration at the moment, but the greenhouse was set to be demolished. This was such a wonderful place, with bi...

Always Carry a Camera

I make a point of always carrying a camera, just to capture anything and everything that catches my eye as we carry on with the minutiae of life. I was in Atherton and just heading for the shop that sells fuses and passed a small alleyway that used t...

Quote:Not the 100 acre wood,

If it were then you could have popped in for afternoon tea as I live not too far away Wink

Excellent set of images and certainly much better having a naturally looking environment, unlike at " events ", which has been my only exposure to owls Sad
