I decided to scan a few more of our antique, vintage negatives today and how about these, I am now officially a vintage antique. I must be, because I was looking at three images from when I was a Little Boy. The scene is the back door and yard area of the family home in Irlams o' th' Height, Salford. The Grown-up in the background is my Granny (my Mum's Mum). The back door led into her kitchen. The other door is into the outside toilet. The handsome young fella in the foreground is me. It's a bit uncanny really, as I remember the scene and I remember getting into trouble a while later as I happily used my new toy hammer on one of those lovely plant pots, with unfortunate consequences. The camera was a Kershaw Penguin, that took eight nicely blurred images on 120 film. The film was Kodak Verichrome Pan.
And there we have it. One day someone will look at the pile of negatives and, without a moment's thought, consign them to the Ultimate Filing Cabinet, in other words, the bin. But at least you've seen them first!
