Abbeywood gardens is a garden plus cafe/restaurant of very high quality, to be found near Joddrell Bank in Cheshire. When we visit, the first oddity is that, because of the proximity to Joddrell bank and its powerful radio telescopes, the key fob for the car is highly unlikely to work properly. The radio interference is very strong and it totally disrupts the signal. After that, it's through the entrance and cafe area and out into some really delightful gardens. Perfect for those who like flower portraits, with a huge selection of very fine plants on display. The house itself is a private residence and behind the house is another smaller garden full of fascinating oddities. The second garden has been closed the last couple of times we have visited, which is a shame, but not a deal breaker. On the way out we pass the woodsheds where some brilliant wildlife carvings are being made.
So, one to add to the list to visit again when lockdown is over!
