This is a small zoo or wildlife park on the west coast of Wales. We visited it in June 2019 and were very taken with its friendly set up and the wide variety of animals and birds. Even the zoo's cat decided to take the time to sit on my Mum-in-Law's knee. I noticed today that they are asking locals to drop off any spare fruit and vegetables at their entrance for the 300+ animals in their care as they rely on visitors for their income and are of course currently closed. This dilemma will no doubt be affecting many places and we can only hope that they can survive to re-open again perhaps later this year.
In terms of photography, small zoos do offer excellent opportunities. There are challenges in removing traces of bars, netting and other structures from the images but it's well worth working around things. For example, wide apertures can be used to put netting so out of focus that it practically disappears. Here's a few pictures from our visit, mainly using the Pentax K-1 and the SMC Pentax-FA J 70-300mm lens.
