This last week we have been in Essex, staying in a cottage just next to Hedingham Castle and the Colne Valley Railway. I was trying to lighten the load by taking the Pentax K-3 II and lenses rather than the K-1 as I have been suffering from some neck and shoulder pain from carrying too much gear in a shoulder bag. I did miss the full frame camera, but it did the trick and the pain is getting better. The first day we went to the Colne Valley Railway at Hedingham Castle Station. They were having a Steam Day so as well as the usual things on offer there were trips up and down the mile of track that is still in use. It was great and even the two mothers enjoyed it, although I suspect they enjoyed the buffet car cafe best of all.
The weather was also great all week, which always helps. Here's some images from the day. Thoroughly recommended if you are in the area, but better on a special event day.
