So Quiet, So Still

The roads are quiet, the work is quiet, the usual stream of people through the house is stilled. Welcome to Lockdown 2020. But listen, we we have the periodic sound of wallpaper meeting newly stripped walls, hopefully not for long. And the reassuring sound of shutters clicking and the glide of the computer mouse as new still life pictures are created from the void. So let's rouse ourselves enough to have a look at some still life creations, some new, some old.

So, we meet again, Doc-tor....

There I am, an unsuspecting 12-year-old, waiting for a new Saturday evening serial about an old man who travels in time. Twenty-five minutes later, there I am totally wowed by the most exciting bit of new TV I had ever seen. Yes, the first episode of...

The Amazing Dalbeattie Museum Trust

This is a small but packed museum in Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway. It covers a couple of floors in a corner shop location and is packed with artefacts, the bad news for us being that many of them are things that we have owned or used as youngste...
