Tewksbury and the Abbey

18 Aug 2021 12:09AM   Views : 511 Unique : 359

Me and Sue along with sister-in-law Diane have just been on a trip down to Hallatrow near Bath and on the way we stopped off at the often-flooded town of Tewksbury. Before the M5 existed this was always a bottle-neck in the journey from Manchester to Bristol, but now it takes a detour to include it. I was travelling light, with just the Pentax K-3 II and the 18-35mm WR and 10-17mm Fisheye zoom lenses. For now, some quick initial impressions of the town and the abbey!

Cardiff, Centre of the Universe

Still on the theme of Doctor Who, Cardiff looks very much like it is indeed the centre of the universe. Temporal Rifts, Torchwood, Aliens of every description, these are to be seen on the streets of Cardiff. In 2017 Me, Sue, her late brother Mark and...

So, we meet again, Doc-tor....

There I am, an unsuspecting 12-year-old, waiting for a new Saturday evening serial about an old man who travels in time. Twenty-five minutes later, there I am totally wowed by the most exciting bit of new TV I had ever seen. Yes, the first episode of...

The Amazing Dalbeattie Museum Trust

This is a small but packed museum in Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway. It covers a couple of floors in a corner shop location and is packed with artefacts, the bad news for us being that many of them are things that we have owned or used as youngste...

Golden Slumbers

There's an exhibitions of Egypt's Golden Mummies at Manchester Museum, and we went down to see it this afternoon. I travelled very light this time, in the end using just the Pentax MX-1 compact camera. The conditions were very dark and the exhibits l...
