The Guided Busway was built to connect Leigh, Atherton and Manchester via a 4 mile stretch of dedicated guided track and onwards on the normal roads to Manchester. Many have called it the Misguided Busway because of the cost and because it reverts to using the roads again towards Manchester. It was certainly very expensive. So last night ADAPS made its way onto the busway to have a look and see what use could be made of it. The brief for members was to use it as they liked, be it on foot or on one of the buses. We'll find out who did what at our next meeting, maybe some travelled into Manchester. A group of six of us met up at the car park in Tyldesley and walked towards Ellenbrook. In the event, we didn't make it to the end of the guided section as by 8.30pm the light had failed, so we returned to Tyldesley. Here's a few pictures on the busway.
