Although some web sources suggest a date of 1165, we arrived at Rhuddlan Castle somewhere around 1062. King Harold wasn't King yet, but he was on his way to Rhuddlan to defeat the Welsh King. Sure enough, some contemporary characters were around the castle and soldiers were practising their trade. Eventually, they all trooped off to fight the battle again. Again, because they were planning to fight it three times over the holiday weekend. History was never really like this, but it seemed to be a case of nip off for a quick battle and then back home for that rather nice stew being prepared over the camp fire. There was one really uncanny thing, after each skirmish some mighty magician came along and yelled, "The dead will now rise!" and so they did. Oddly, nobody was at all perturbed to see fallen soldiers rising once more to fight the battle all over again.......perhaps we'd better look at some images now!
The images were shot using the Pentax K-1 full frame DSLR. Lenses were the HD Pentax-D FA 28-105mm and the SMC Pentax-FA J 75-300mm.
