The Sky's The Limit

It must be fate keeping us away, but for the past three years I have been wanting to take Grandson Finn, and any of the Granddaughters who were interested, to see the Solway Aircraft Museum At Carlisle Airport. This was it, 2020 was the year it was Going To Happen. But alas! The museum has just announced that it is giving in to the inevitable and remaining closed for the whole year. Ah well, so be it, and now 2021 is the year it is Going To Happen. We'll see in 12 months time how we get on, but meanwhile here are some aircraft museum pictures to keep the thought in our minds.

Cardiff, Centre of the Universe

Still on the theme of Doctor Who, Cardiff looks very much like it is indeed the centre of the universe. Temporal Rifts, Torchwood, Aliens of every description, these are to be seen on the streets of Cardiff. In 2017 Me, Sue, her late brother Mark and...

So, we meet again, Doc-tor....

There I am, an unsuspecting 12-year-old, waiting for a new Saturday evening serial about an old man who travels in time. Twenty-five minutes later, there I am totally wowed by the most exciting bit of new TV I had ever seen. Yes, the first episode of...

The Amazing Dalbeattie Museum Trust

This is a small but packed museum in Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway. It covers a couple of floors in a corner shop location and is packed with artefacts, the bad news for us being that many of them are things that we have owned or used as youngste...

Golden Slumbers

There's an exhibitions of Egypt's Golden Mummies at Manchester Museum, and we went down to see it this afternoon. I travelled very light this time, in the end using just the Pentax MX-1 compact camera. The conditions were very dark and the exhibits l...
