We have visited Styal and Quarry Bank Mill many times in the distant past, but not so much in the past ten years or so. The last time was when Sophie and Amelia were much younger, perhaps about 6 years old in Sophie's case and she is now 11. They had a great time then, "I could do with a drink." said one, "I could do with something stronger!" replied the other....amusing days! Lashings of Ginger Beer! This time, over the bank holiday weekend, it was just me and Sue, travelling light with just K1 + 28-105mm + 20-35mm and K-3 + 18-270mm. The difference was that now Sue uses her new Acerbil carbon fibre tripod and I use a monopod for much of the time. It's great to have sharp images!
Quarry Bank Mill has had a bit of a makeover since last time and Styal Village slumbers on as tiny car-free villages tend to. We all basked under the hot sun, mad dogs and Englishmen included, and enjoyed a bit of carefree personal photography, just shooting whatever caught our attention. Hope everyone else enjoyed the weekend too!
