Treading in Our own Footsteps #2 - Speke Hall

Another place that we hadn't visited for a very long time, Speke Hall is next to Liverpool John Lennon Airport, so there's plenty of opportunity for not only a National Trust house and gardens but also a bit of plane spotting. The last time we went there we had the old runaround over photography inside the house. They would ask me if I'd mind puttting my camera bag into a locker or whatever, I'd say yes I did mind and I'd elect to not we can take pictures inside, without flash of course, although I suspect that even that prohibition is without much scientific basis. If a flash lasts even 1/1000 second, then one thousand flashes are needed to represent one second of daylight. I find it difficult to believe that this would really be a problem. However, available light is better anyway so high ISO values are more relevant and using the Pentax cameras ISO 6400 is not a problem. Higher than that gets a bit iffy, but it can be OK depending on the type of shot. So we spent a good few hours in the searing heat of the weekend and here's a selection of images. Pentax K-1 with SMC Pentax-FA 20-35mm f/4 and HD Pentax D-FA 28-105mm lenses.
