Urban Exploration for Kids

We've just been given an old doll's house, very quaint and a bit dusty but basically sound. It's going to Granddaughter #3, Amelia Jane, and just maybe she'll let her younger sister Georgia have a go as well. It reminded me in a way of walking into one of the fascinating disused bothys in Scotland or Wales, so I made a few images of it.

I used the Pentax Q with fish-eye lens to give a real close-in feel as though we were tiny people and it was life sized. We've also ended up with a bit of a child's-eye view, which I think is probably a good thing.

Now I can just see the house after restoration, all painted and restored. Then the pixies can move in....Smile

Historic Tyldesley - The Technical College

There is a road sign that says "Welcome to Historic Tyldesley" or something similar, and for a while we scratched our heads wondering what excatly was historic about Tyldesley. Well, slap on the hand for us, because there are plenty of things that w...

Buile Hill Greenhouse - Progress Report

We were down at Buile Hill Park in Salford today, just to see how the mansion and the Greenhouse were getting along. The mansion is under restoration at the moment, but the greenhouse was set to be demolished. This was such a wonderful place, with bi...

Always Carry a Camera

I make a point of always carrying a camera, just to capture anything and everything that catches my eye as we carry on with the minutiae of life. I was in Atherton and just heading for the shop that sells fuses and passed a small alleyway that used t...
