We've just returned from a weekend in Whitby, synonymous with vampires and all things dark. There was nothing darker than the Dracula Experience, a jolly stumble through an exhibition dedicated to Bram Stoker's classic tale.
Almost totally pitch black, it would have been impossible to focus manually, so I upped the ISO on my Pentax K-5 and let it get on with sorting out both exposure and focus. The lens was the SMC Pentax-DA 18-135mm, used wide open.

Not too shabby I think and I'm looking forward to returning to Whitby in the near future.
