Weddings Can Be Fun!

This one was certainly fun, back in the distant days of January 2010. The destination was Harome, near Pickering, and the night before we saw the news "Here are the scenes of widespread disruption near Pickering" - wonderful.....snow everywhere and a long journey ahead of us. An early start got us almost to Harome without incident, but the last mile or two down country lanes was horrendous. Deep snow that the car was barely able to cope with, coupled by having to back down again a good few hundred yards to allow a convoy of lorries going the other way to get past. I was a nervous wreck by the time we got there, but then so was our host who thought we might never make it.

Snow is good in other ways though, and a few playful shots were made. Here's the mock snowball fight. Spot the deliberate mistake, put in as a bit of whimsy?

I also felt inspired to make a slight copy of the cover of the Beatles' Please Please Me album:

Here's Harome later in the day:

Getting home was also horrendous, the car park having frozen again we almost couldn't get out at all. However, we did, and afterwards it all makes the memory more interesting, without which there would not have been this tale to tell!

The Golden Days of Motoring, Part Two

Continuing the look at yesterday's classic car show, I could have spent many more hours looking at these fine machines and chatting to their owners, plus of course collecting a huge set of images. Only one car that I would like to see again seemed to...
