Zooming on a Thursday Evening

Video conferencing is all the rage. We use it to have meetings with family, we use it on Thursday evenings to have a virtual get together of a few members of ADAPS. There's conversation, we show images and we have small tasks that we undertake each week. Tonight we were presenting a couple of images each of items for people to guess what they were. There were some tough ones and some easy ones, but it added to the fun of the evening. As the title of the blog suggests, we use Zoom for ADAPS, but Facetime and Messenger can also be used for small groups quite successfully.

I did two sections, one guessing items and one guessing TV programmes. So here are the items to guess, and tomorrow I'll post a blog with the answers, so you can play too!

First, the guess the items:

Then the guess the TV programmes:

The group were actually pretty good and someone got most of them relatively easily. Till tomorrow, have fun and keep safe!

Cardiff, Centre of the Universe

Still on the theme of Doctor Who, Cardiff looks very much like it is indeed the centre of the universe. Temporal Rifts, Torchwood, Aliens of every description, these are to be seen on the streets of Cardiff. In 2017 Me, Sue, her late brother Mark and...

So, we meet again, Doc-tor....

There I am, an unsuspecting 12-year-old, waiting for a new Saturday evening serial about an old man who travels in time. Twenty-five minutes later, there I am totally wowed by the most exciting bit of new TV I had ever seen. Yes, the first episode of...

The Amazing Dalbeattie Museum Trust

This is a small but packed museum in Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway. It covers a couple of floors in a corner shop location and is packed with artefacts, the bad news for us being that many of them are things that we have owned or used as youngste...

Golden Slumbers

There's an exhibitions of Egypt's Golden Mummies at Manchester Museum, and we went down to see it this afternoon. I travelled very light this time, in the end using just the Pentax MX-1 compact camera. The conditions were very dark and the exhibits l...
