Boscobel House

By johnriley1uk
The formal house is echoed by the formal gardens that surround it. This is the place where King Charles II is reputed to have hidden in a tree to avoid his enemies, the Roundheads, following the Battle of Worcester in 1651. The tree is still there to be seen as well and is known as the Royal Oak.

How interesting. I can't imagine keeping up those gardens as they are. Great image.

What a beautifully clean-cut looking house with all the straight edges. I would not like to be the gardener with all these privet hedges to keep in shape!

Very rich colours, reminds me of Velvia film.

The Royal Oak is a mile down the road and should be open now restrictions have been lifted Smile
