Old Streets of Leigh

By johnriley1uk
This is a shot of Leigh in Lancashire, taken when we lived there, sometime between 1975 and 1980. The old streets are timeless in a way, looking the same as they might have done 100 years ago. I haven't been back to look, but it's entirely possible that this scene is still there today, maybe with a few more cars around.

Classic retro image, love this. Was in Retford at that time, very similar look and feel. Peaceful and quiet in the main, with a corner shop too!

You can tell it is an old image by two features, a cobble street and NO yellow lines! It has a vintage look about it. Street cleaning was also not a high priority then! Good capture of the past when Kodachrome ruled the roost!

Classic and beautiful. Nicely captured indeed.
