The Start of a Beautiful Friendship

The friendship is my friendship with photography, and it starts properly right here with this image. I had just bought my first SLR camera, a Zenit B, and coupled it here with a Super Takumar 55mm f/1.8 lens borrowed from my father. The location was the banks of the Manchester, Bolton and Bury canal near Clifton and this was the first Kodachrome slide in the new camera that I felt I really liked.
