Urban Boating

By johnriley1uk
The Rochdale Canal goes right through the centre of Manchester and at times becomes very claustrophobic. Here, a lock enables the narrowboats to go right under the foundations of the buildings. It must be a pretty weird experience.

It appears the canal predates the building, never underestimate the urban planners to squeeze more into less space.

A transport hub, but one way traffic? Well caught, the jumble of houses and canal.
