LAKELAND CHURCH

By JOKEN
Martindale lies at the head of Ullswater. It is quite remote and is reached by a very narrow road, or by foot. to Dale Head and on to Hawes Water. In the church there is a memorial window to HMS Glorious, an aircraft carrier sunk in the North Sea in 1940 - the reason for our visit.

Sitting against that steep slope, this wee church must be quite difficult to photo, but your choice of viewpoint looks well organised, Ken, showing it off in it's surroundings so effectively.
Interesting narrative about it too.

Does look a little remote! A fine capture, Ken, of the church set in this beautiful countryside Smile
