I like this unusual view, seems odd to take it in B&W and convert to colour would it have been better to take in colour and increase your options? still I like it.

Thanks for all the kind comments everyone - I'm glad you like the shot. Definitely makes getting my feet wet worthwhile!

I was playing with B&W mode on my Fuji using a red filter and ISO400, which I think is partly where the grain comes from. There was also a lot of fine shingle on the beach which has added to the "grainy" effect.
