Lush. The scene, I mean, rather than the photographer! It's probably the digitising and uploading process, but it doesn't look critically sharp at any point.

Thanks for the comments. The original 35mm photo is nice and sharp, but a combination of scanning and reducing to 50k file size seems to have affected this photo. Has anyone got any good methods of retaining image quality and reducing files to 50k?

Depends on what software you use to do the compression. I use PS6; resize, sharpen, then 'Save for Web' and optimise for filesize (50kb). About the best job I have come across, but not doing a huge amount for websites, it's not something I've delved too deeply in to.
