Spring riding on the south downs. I like the intensity of colour and the feeling of speed in this shot.

Shutterspeed/apature would be helpful on this one...I'd like to try something similar. How did you do this?

A technique I have yet to try. You have got it spot on, nice shot.

Thanks for the comments. I've tried using the zoom lens to get this effect in the past and always struggled to get a good result.

This is a standard shot that I've modified digitally using a radial zoom filter effect(photoshop elements) having masked out the rider first.

Agree I can't look for too long either, certainly gives a sense of speed.

Yes these zoom effects (big no-no in videography) don't do much for me in stills either. Sorry!

Great colours. Love the shot.

Staring at this gives me the feeling that the rider is being sucked backwards into the picture rather than coming out!

The excellent exposure and vivid greens combined with the competent use of the selection tool and applied motion blur have come together to make a really spot on action pic.

Pete, thanks for the feedback and especially the Editors Choice. It's the first time I'd tried this technique with photoshop and was pleased with the effect. Glad you liked it too!

What a beauty, making the feeling of being on the bike...clever work.

I agree: very good double shot... with the camera, and with photoshop and imagination (photoshop without ideas is of no use).
Thanks also for your useful comments concerning my picture of a face in the fire.
