This is the second image from a {short} series of photographs taken recently on Yr Wyddfa {Snowdon). We have been above many cloud inversions, but only seen a Broken Spectre once before, many years ago when climbing Moel Siabod in Snowdonia. For this image we were just emerging from the clouds when we were greeted with this sight, magical and quite mystical. The Spectre is produced by casting your shadow onto the mist in front. We stood for some time looking at the gift the mountain had given us, to have both our shadows inside the rainbow halo was a sight we will never forget. Yr Wyddfa summit can just be seen in the background.
