Sure the angle is a good idea, but the flower seems out of focus. or may be it is intended to be soft, or it needs sharpening.
Those blue bits in the background are very annoying and distracting, you know you can dob those out on the computer, or put a bacground e.g. card, behind the flower.

I agree with the above.The flower is out of focus,you probably needed to be a little further away so the camera could focus properly.Has your camera got a Macro mode or setting for taking close ups? I'd check the instructions on macro photography just incase you overlooked somthing. I like the angle and composition though, so if you can just get the focus right, this would be a great shot.

The thumbnail is bright but once you open the image up it's a bit of a let down. It's rather soft and those tips of the other leaves are rather distracting. Bold image though

Thanks for all your comments. It was just an experiment at the time, and agree with everything you've said. I think I used the macro setting, but might still have been too close. I'll try again in spring!!

it still looks like one BIG 'kin flower LOL
ok the focus isnt spot on but the idea is great. you'll just have to wait until spring to try a re-shoot ;-P

LOL, it was only a dwarf one! Funny what difference the angle can make!
