Pointing to the Sky

By JonJ
This was taken on a very dull day in Manchester earlier this week. I've cropped it and adjusted the light and colour levels in Photoshop. I've also had to put the sky in from another shot...it was so dull it was depressing!

Glad you replaced the sky, because it works well with this one.

really good lines and shapes...i would have never known that you had replaced the sky if you hadnt said, which is very difficult to do seamlessly...nice one!

Good result. The blue sky, silver building and the black foreground work well together.

love the geometric shaping and composition but to really set this image off would be a deeper saturation of colour for me. well done with the shot tho! and nicely presented.

to produce the image of the coloured smoke i have..
used insence stick burning to produce the smoke
you need a black background (non reflective if you can) i have used a black top hung over my bed
darkish room and a flash on your camera.

after you have got the shots you can begin manipulating them on photoshop.
i have changed the levels giving greater contrast.
to get the three different colours i have colourized three duplicated layers different colours and rubbed each layer away to leave me with the colours i want.

Love the movement of the shot due to your composition. The addition of this sky really works well. Great work!
