i say don't take your 300d with you. trust your metering, also the latitude of slide film is quite small so it is an art to get just right. but you only learn from your bad photos, if you are the kidn of person who deletes all their bad photos you will never learn. wtih slides you can't throw em away. also looking at slides is far more fun than images on a screen.

nice conversation you guys got going here, ive got enough money now for a D30 ive found, but im holding out, i don't really need it til the summer holidays, my big problem is the conversion factor, its perfect for my crappy 75-300mm making it 480mm but my 28-105 will become useless for wide angles, i find it hard enough to fit my ideas into 28mm sometimes. any ideas?

  • Commented on 'Why Canon?'

What about the Nikon F6, possibly the best SLR on the market at the moment, but no advertising, its all down to how much people spend on advertising. also Canon have a better begginer range than nikon, so people stay with them due to the cahnging of lenses and stuff. But don't forget nikon are ahead of Canon on the Digi-Compacts, the Coolpix series is very good.

I've never done motorsports but i do like using a large lens, i would say that you can pick up a Sigma 300 f/4 prime at and also at they sell a sigma 135-400 f5.6 or 6.7 i can't remember for 299.99

but i would invest in a monopod as you don't want to hold your camera for a very long time will you.

lol, i wouldn't use a TLR its quite awkward to use out on the street and u'll get weird looks, i have a lubitel 166u (10 ebay) everyone knows leicas are awesome but expensive for just street shooting. i would look around on ebay. a Canonet 2.8 are small and unobtrusive and have been rumoured to have a leica sharp lens!!! Also the Kiev Rangefinders are the most reliable of the Conatax and Leica copies. All cheap and easily available.

you won't need it all will you? i say take the camera body with you with a small lens atached and put the rest in the hold with your clothes. wrap t-shirts and stuff around them and they should be ok. i mean your not flying with easyjet are you.

whoa, chill this is a 5 point and shoot camera i found while clearing out my room, its a very sible one piece of plastic shutter and its AF. and i had a brain wave to put a cut up piece of film box on the frame piece. but, i used a slighly shiny side to allow smooth transporatation of the film. there seems to bwe no different in the sounds coming out.

  • Commented on 'Rack Your Brains'

hi, this is a call for ideas. i recently found my first camera kicking about. its in better nick than my other cameras and still has the case, but tahts not important. ive been wondering whether to mask off the top and bottom to create panoramic images from 35mm. i was wondering what is the best material to make this out of? it has to be available and cheap. light proof and removable for tinkering. so fire away and i'll get back to the good people at epz, on whether it works or not.

    thanx all
