I've known him since he was a baby. He was quite noisy then too.
It's scary how quickly they grow up...
I know I clipped his hand, I'm annoyed with myself for that. I was watching the face.
Thanks for looking,
I should imagine that it was really loud at the time Moira.
The clipped hand doesn't seem to be a distraction.
It's not easy, singing and playing bass at the same time. Don't know why, but it isn't.
Your sense of timing is phenomenal, Moira. As usual.
A nice mono image Moira, well captured, you can see he is really into his music!!!

That's the best compliment I could ask for. I watch people. I reckon the watching is as important as the taking. And with musicians, after a verse or two it's often possible to predict the action...
I like the foreground image against the static wall, and the lines formed by the guitars and the mic rods crossing them and also the face indicating vigour and sound. A great mono.
The young lady is a nice distraction. You have caught the moment really well here and the strong mono conversion give it loads of impact.
I don't mind so much Moira, about you clipping his hand.
But I do mind how you have ''clipped'' HER legs here !!
Lots of emotion
He's putting his all into his singing. And, you captured it perfectly. Looks excellent in b/w.......Sandy
OAN YERSEL SON Sorry Moira just slipped into type for a second. Alans comment was spot on , your timing is fantastic Nice passion here to. Well conveyed
Nooo...to me, the clipping of the hand is very inconsequential in this brilliant shot. For me the focus is that face. Marvellous. Then immediately onto the girl's hair and her hands on the guitar. I notice her hands more since she's looking down and sorta makes you look there too. So I feel her hands are more important than the guy's hands.
Excellent processing too, Moira. The tones and detail are wonderful.
He really looks like he's putting his heart & soul into it! A great capture, Moira - I don't think half a hand matters, you've got the main part of the subject

For a moment I thought this was about woolybill1 himself.
A partially missing hand isn't important. Not in a photo, anyway.
Admirable lack of sound accompanies this splendid image.
Tell it to tomorrow, today will take it's time
To tell you what tonight will bring
Presently we'll have a pint or two together
Everybody do their thing.......
Heart and soul.
Quite an expression captured Moira, mono suits this beautifully and such a great shot
Don't think the hand is too distracting, really works in mono
There's real passion in his face. Love it!
Nothing wrong with a clippy Bass Moira, reminds me of 80's Funk
A very well captured energy giving image here, and works a treat in Mono.
A fine capture Moira.
Moira, the clipped hand of the bass player doesn't bother me. In fact, I'm trying to re-compose this shot in my head and nothing works better than what you have here. As you say, the shot is his face and the tension in his right arm. They speak volumes (pardon the pun). It's a bit amusing that the guitarist has a very different body posture. She looks to be playing a completely different song -- a lullaby perhaps.
Nicely captured and fine mono conversion.
