Like the light and the mood Jools, I'm not worried about all of the mast in shot, works fine for me as is - good luck with the club Smile

Get the mast in and you lose the impact of the prow rearing up into the corner of the frame. This is powerful.

It's the perspective that makes this image work J and the capture of the colour Red which will make an Image stand out everytime... Joined a club 30 years ago as a trial and they used to have a visiting speaker every week...
In those days I was into Roll Film and printing but this guy came along one evening and we viewed his Imagery on Cibachrome Prints from Slides (I was hooked)... Cibachrome revelled on saturation and to prove the point this chap would introduce a little something red in most of his work as a means of drawing the eye to a particular part of the Image he wanted to be the main point of Focus....
Nothing has changed really ~ Primary colours Rule even today!
All the best with the club venture ~ Let us know what you think ?
Regards Rick

The pphoto works really well and masts would distract..Interesting to see how you get on with the camera club...people either love them or hate them...depends on how embedded in the past they are...but being a good looking young lady you will probably be the centre of attention....:0)

A fine shot, the moody sky adds atmosphere. I know what you mean about the masts, I always have that problem when trying to photograph tall ships at Gloucester docks.
