Door handle with distressed paintwork

By joolsb
Whilst exploring a quiet corner of rural France, I happened on this intriguing house that was looking somewhat the worse for wear - and seemed to be deserted. So I took some photos.... Wink

I love the texture of peeling paint on an old house - I actually have a lot of these on my hard drive but never get around to processing everything. The one house I used to photograph was torn down last year. I talked to a local farmer in the area and he told me that when the house came down they found a nest of rattle snakes underneath the floor - I used to walk there with bare feet in sandals - shudder.
LOL - your image immediately transported me there.............btw there's an eye in that knot in the wood upper left.

Very thoughtful of the painters to create this striped effect just for you. Well captured.
