Beautiful Demoiselle

By JoshReptiles
Hi all,

I went to the river on sunday. Unfortunately a white bush has grown incredibly fast over the nest bank which blocks my view of eyeing the nest. For the moment i will have to work something out.
Before i went back home, i spotted some long green leaves with irises near them and then saw some long blue flying things, flying around, and then i realised they where beautiful demoiselles and stayed there for a while, and got some lovely pics!
Hope you like it,

You done really well with this one mate, the POV is just a little off and it might benefit from a little more of a sharpen, but all these little faults are being picky with what essentially is a good solid image......Well done to I say.

What a gorgeous shot - I think this is a male Banded Demoiselle (quite similar to a Beautiful, but a band/stripe of colour rather then the whole wing being coloured). Smile

It's really not easy capturing these little critters, not only do they have excellent eyesight, but the slightest breeze will move their perch (usually just as you press the shutter!!) Smile
