Hunting Barn Owl

By jove
Hi, All.
Have been so busy of late just have not had the time to visit the site, so apologies for not voting.
But we did manage a few days away recently giving us some camera time.
We stayed in Lincolnshire, driving through the countryside one early evening we saw this Barn Owl quartering a field on the lookout for it's supper.
The first capture shows it flying up & down the field, the second image which is slightly blurred shows it diving into the long grass onto it's prey.
It was in the grass for a good five minutes so we assumed it must have caught what it was after.
The last one shows it happilly sitting there probally digesting it's meal.
I hope you like these captures, I felt totally in awe of this beatifull bird as it went about it's day.

My first thoughts were that you'd caught the bird at some sort of demo. This was in the wild? I'm very impressed. Well spotted in deed.

It's hard to pick a favourite, they're all such good shots.

They're just spoiled a little for me, in that the exposure has allowed some burnout. The second shot actually looks out of focus.

However, this could be in the reduction to size process. I've found that PS adds contrast.

Pic one is a real standout from all the other bird shots that have appeared of late.
