No, I meant it to be as you see it. Just an aesthetic choice I guess, I like it this way as it concentrates on the model's face. Don't know if it's modern though.

  • Mad On A

Yes, I like it. Good fun. However, it's a bit contrasty/overexposed as areas are bleaching out. Content-wise a nice shot though.

  • Fashion Archives

Excellent. As you say, reminds me of those classic fashion shots from years ago. The monochrome version is much better, for me.

I'm not sure if I like it or not... I think I do but it's hard to be sure. It is definitely striking and shows some thought going on rather than just snapping, and it's certainly not a 'so what?' shot which many are. Nice one! Oh yes, V2 is better.

  • Natural Woman

Very nice indeed. No need for retouching, or indeed makeup. Lovely lighting, just enough shadow to show a bit of definition without intruding.

  • Whistle

V1 is very good. I like it not being a conventional 3/4 head on shot of the whole thing, but looks at the shapes etc. that characterise the engine. Nice one. V2-5 are fine as well but a little more, dare I say, record-ish.

  • Nevagissey

Very nice shot, nice light good composition. I've uploaded a md which cuts off some of the foreground, which is empty and doesn't really contribute much. Just a thought - see if you prefer it. Also, just personal, but I don't like frames (digital that is, not physical).

  • Sian behind

Nice lighting and I like the leg pose. I think the heels work fine and match the thong. I would repostiton the glasses slightly so as not to be over the thong, so the white bit matching the heels can be seen. Great shot though.

Excellent, I like it a lot. Marvellous light.

  • Lady in Red

Nice one. I like the models expression and pose and overall a good shot. The background works well, the jaggy grafitti-type grpahics sutiing the style of the image, although I'd possibly prefer them on both sides. I agree about the grungy stool, a better one is needed. In all a nice shot though.

  • In the Eye of the Wind II

Well, the model is nice and you've handled the exposure well. I think this shot might be better a vertical composition, because as it is you have that house in the distance which is distracting, and have cut off the model's legs. Good, interesting pose though and worth pursuing.

  • Peas

Oh yes. Taken some time ago though. Still have a film body but doesn't see much use these days.

  • Top Man

Nice one. Caught very well, lovely and sharp, good angle, good bit of background to hint where he is. Small crit - the tyre is right on the edge of the frame, and a tad of space there would be better. Very nice motorbike racing shot though.

  • Cyano Rose

Barbara, see 'http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanotype'. I did some Photoshop jiggery-pokery (not my original idea - read article) to simulate the real thing.

  • A Morning at Bamburgh

Yes, nice one. Classical shot of Bamburgh Castle but none the owrse for that. You've got some great light and a nice sunset, which isn't over the top. Also I like the fact that there is a little bit of light on the castle so it isn't a complete silhouette.

  • Storm Clouds and Poppies

Well, this is an interesting shot, albeit a tad heavy/dense for me. I also am not keen on the border etc. Far from boring though, and shows some strong creativity.

  • HEAVEN CAN WAIT...

Is that a natural sky? Excellent image in any case. Not so sure about the title.

  • Ringed Plover attack

    Excellent.

  • Under a Dark Sky

Oh yes, very nice indeed. If I were picky I might say the trees are a little bit featureless, but that would be fussy. Nice one!

  • Flower

Excellent quality, and very nice colours. I like these shots. That's it really, nice one.

  • Eilean Donan

Nice shot, but I find the castle kind of merges with the background. If the light had moved round to illuminate the front face castle a little bit that might have been better. Good shot though, nice composition and sky is great.

  • Cornish Curves

Ah yes, this is very nice. The great depth is fascinating and I love the colours as well. Nothing too 'in your face', but lovely hues. The little bit of red evening light in the background is good, give the ey something to see rahter than just drop out at the back. Nice one.

  • Poser

Nice one. I like the different pose and the look on her face. Not sure about the foot peeping out though, looks like she might be wearing a trainer or a boot, and it is incongruous. Overall a good 'un though.

  • Resting

Very nice shot of this fly. Crisp! However, I am not keen on the black and orange borders, which only serve to distract me from the image. Lovely shot though.
