The Warning

By jules41
Well,it's good to be back online after a long abscence:o)
just been working too much as

This is another shot taken on a trip to Namibia this year.
Taken just as we were given a stern warning by this Elephant. The outstretched ears, circling of the feet and ear splitting roar, were enough to have me cowering under the seat in front,of the open jeep we were in.This was quickly followed by a mock charge and some throwing of trees.
Just could'nt get out of there fast enough and has made me appreciate that these seemingly gentle creatures are really the King of the Jungle so to speak. It was a terrifying moment.

Thanks for all your comments and views and ca'nt promise to catch up on all the shots i've missed but i'll give it a
catch up with you all asap.

Welcome back Julie, nice to see your work on here again.
You must've been pretty close to this fella, no wonder you were frightened, he'd have made a mess of your vehicle if he did charge no doubt.
Nice shot, that was some trip you both had.
Well done.

Thanks for all your lovely comments,we were really close to the elephant Geoff, too close in fact and it really did'nt like us at'nt describe the fear that i felt at the time, but we were saved by another car coming in the opposite direction,as another Bull elephant started going after that.Trouble is..i'm petrified of the things's totally it's a night off for me tonight and i'm off for a drink:oD
