Like the foreground clarity and autumnal colours on the hills

In my view this is an absolute belter.

For me - and Id better get my tin hat out here in case Im wrong and you just go to random locations and machine gun Wink - what sets your images apart from many others is the way that you capture the sense of a place.

Here we have an image where the viewer is encouraged to look inside the scene and feel the mood and history of the buildings and carriage.

Or is landscape photography all about the scientific business of lead-in lines, intersection of angles etc?

I hope not. Surely to reduce buildings such as these to mere objects whose only purpose is to balance the frame is to misunderstand the whole purpose of the image?

Good shot - like the motion in this.

Was down Saltburn beach yesterday afternoon myself but left before sun down as things didn't look too promising (and the new puppy was tired and wanted to go home).

As I was leaving, passed someone with EOS kit going down onto the beach - it wasn't you, was it?

Another A4,Union of South Africa, travelled up the East Coast Main Line not one mile from my house the other weekend. Sadly I found out after the event as I had no net access at the time.

As you 'might' be chasing these things this might be useful Wink

Top shot - the man's expression conveys just what hard work it is to get one of these ready for work.

    Paul

I deliberately kept away from you so that young Maxwell did not cause you too much disruption - he was in quite a lively mood after the journey over! When he had disappeared over the bridge, I came back round to see if you were still there for a chat, however you'd already gone - along with what was left of the light Wink

If you see us around in the future, give me a shout.

    All the best

I never thought churches and cathedrals were very epz - i've got a stitched panorama of the nave at Lincoln - one for whan I renew e2 perhaps?

For me, at least, this is one of the best (if not the best) that you've ever uploaded on here.
