Singing Robin.

By justin c

I guess any portfolio centered around wildlife wouldn't be complete without one of these beautiful, friendly little birds.

This particular bird was having a few problems seeing off a rival.I watched him spend a good hour or so constantly chasing off another bird, round and round in circles, and from one perch to another.
Every now and then he briefly stopped to have a good sing-song,and no doubt,a bit of a well-earned breather.

All comments always welcomed and appreciated.

Great shot Justin, in such nice detail as well, was it shot with a tripod or by hand?

I can never get a clearly focused shot of a bird (when using my dads DSLR) even when its sat still and i am holding the camera by hand (obviously the bigger the lens to zoom in the more shake!).

You could probably sell this shot to some sort of publication locally! Its so nicely colour and balanced!

Stunning - well done. I've got one who's befriended me since I started digging the garden, might see if I can get a shot of him later. I'll be doing well to get half as good as this though!

Many thanks for commenting.

Alex / Pete.

I used a tripod for this shot and tend to use one 99.9% of the time.

Thanks - I have the same lense but have never managed to achieve such sharpness! Have a tripod but not sturdy enough for the 100-400. Perhaps Father Christmas will bring another one!

Lovely shot! Well caught! The best I've managed is one muttering under it's breath, almost 'talking' to itself!

Yes, this is an extremely sharp image. It makes me wonder how they land between so many sharp thorns. Do they look down and adjust their feet just before they land? Congrats on the EC too.

Perhaps you need to adjust and calibrate your screen (I can recommend the Gretag Macbeth EyeOne).

The image is bright and colourful just as I remember the scene Smile
