Looking for my Friend

By Kali
I spoke to this gentleman, who was frantically searching through the names of the fallen to see if see could find the name of his friend who had been mortally wonded at the D day landings. The chap had had to leave his fatally injured friend to save his own life and that of his colleagues. But he was never sure if if his friends body had been found and properly honoured.

Very moving documentary shot. Good composition, like the hand movement and the colouring of the poppies. Click!

Hope you had a great Xmas, enjoy the New Year & I look forward to seeing more of your work throughout 2006!

This is a captivating o' so sad photograph. I works. It couldnt be better. It couldnt be bettered.Your composure shows the sea of crosses perfectly in context with the old soldier, his hands in movement selecting another his friends name on the next cross? Maybe, maybe not..... and shows how much work he has to do. It shows so beautifully the sadness and lonliness of often fruitless but ever hopeful searching. It gets me every time. Deserves so many more "clicks", deserves to be seen by a much wider audience. I wish I could vote for it again. Pxx I had to wax lyrical. Its a genius photo.
