Hi all, Have taken some good stuff lately (and a load of rubbish) but am drawn to uploading a bigger one of the pup. She is such a darling although also feisty for such a young dog. She's not afraid to walk right up and sniff at the horses or to try to take a huge ball from Lexie.
Thankyou for all the C.C's on my last one.
Have a great weekend,

Jenny I know how thrilled you are with your D300 but you are going to have to watch the exposure. Simple for me to say 'good shot' but that won't help you sort things out. The composition is fine but the whites are burnt out and you have lost detail in the fur. Not sure what 'mode you are using but I would suggest you try 'manual' and underexpose by about 1 or 2 stops especially under bright conditions like you have here. Shoot in RAW if poss, you can correct under exposure to a degree but not overexposure. Hope this helps and dosen't offend.

That is a beautiful pup, sounds like a nice bold one which is good.
Good advice from Geoff, will really help bring out the detail in that lovely white fur. Never easy getting it right, a case of trial and error when it comes to shooting something white.

Widgy is really cute, I got her name from yesterdays shot. What a lovely expression too. Excellent shot.
The white fur is a bit over exposed. im usally hopeless but have been trying with manual, shoot, check histogram, adjust and shoot, Like on my carved bear shot yesterday. somehow quite satisfying too.

Super pet portrait, Jenny. In answer to your question, I use an Olympus FE-210 'point & shoot' camera, cheap and simle, with no additional lens of paraphernalia. Carol

Hi Jenny, the soft ware is called PAINT SHOP PRO, PHOTO X 2, by COREL, I purchased it at CIRCUIT CITY, NOT sure if there is one where you live but most big box type stores , electonics and such that sells computers most often carry several types of soft ware, this particular one cost me about $100. american , Thanks for the clicks on my uploads, and hope that you sign up on E P Z, so we can swap more information, regards , Chuck
