Love the wonderful detail & colours in this Karen.
Good job we know the size of the berries, because that bug looks to be enormous.
Glad you're feeling better...wrong time to get a cold, just before the winter starts.

Take care.

Great close up and detail, like the way the berries are out of focus. Pam

Hi Karen
Nice study of a shield bug. I have never noticed before how big each segment is on the antennae.

What a Stinker...!

The Bug, not the Image... Ha ha ha...!

I like when the shot is so close you can see texture on the insect as you've managed here.

This is a Great shot and you had it lying around unloved...???

Great detail. Do Shild Bugs come in different colours or do they change with the Autumn colours? Excellent shot.

Thanks everyone!
Kevin: There are 17 species of Shield Bug in the British Isles (most of them restricted to the southern half! They come in a variety of colours and shapes - even the young look different to the adults!! AND, yes, I know the Green Shield Bug changes from green to brown for the winter!! Aren't bugs wonderful!!! Smile

P.S. If you click on the 'Tag' for Shield Bug you will find a wonderful variety of images.

Great shot - I love the detail and the way that the rich colours of the berries offset the bug. Don't think I've ever seen one of these in person, but know that I'm not in the mood for fruit.
