One Of The Last

By KarenFB
I think this is an immature male Common Darter - I have quite a lot flittering around the garden pond at the moment (this one decided to land on the house!).

Things are definitely winding down out there now, fewer and fewer butterflies, though the fat garden spiders seem to be prolific this year!

Autumn is here and this might be one of the last dragonflies this year.

A lovely capture, Karen, still quite a number to be found here, but the little critters are definitely on the decline now. Carol

Tremendous detail in this close up Karen, there are still plenty of common darters and migrant hawkers about, I saw good numbers of both when I visited Slimbridge on Friday.
