Yesterday I had a 'Wow!' moment! Grin

We'd gone for a walk on Dartmoor, after parking at Postbridge we walked through Bellever Forest up to Bellever Tor. All through the forest we could hear several Cuckoos off in the distance - that in itself was quite exciting as I hadn't heard one for years, yet here we were with at least 4!

On the way back from the tor we stopped at a prehistoric Stone Circle to have some lunch, and there in front of us a Cuckoo landed on the tip of a fir tree to utter a few "Cuckoos". Grin I was on full zoom, with a mouth full of sandwich, but I managed to capture two shots!!

Excited? I'll say!! Grin

(And I caught my first Small Heath butterfly, but that's for another day!)

Wow Karen, a Cuckoo and prehistoric Stone Circle! Most auspicious for the year perhaps! I wonder if birds follow Ley Lines? Great capture, definitely. A 'Wow', I've never been close enough to get one on camera. Super!

It is a wonderful walk, not the steepest of tors which made it quite pleasant! Smile

I bet you could hardly "Bellever" eyes when you saw this bird perched on a pine tree!Grin Two wonderful opportunistic captures. I don't suppose you caught sight of an even rarer beast that is hardly seen or heard at all these days, the wild man of Dartmoor Ade Osmant aka the Big O!Wink
