It's a lovely shot Kathy and I feel a little visit to this place may be in orderSmile
I think I would have been tempted to place some sort of lighting effect, just to light up those huts a tad more

Very nice. Had a little play - no idea if that was what the sky was like. Forgot to add in my description that I converted it from Adobe RGB to sRGB hence why the colours appear a little brighter.

What a classic view down this beach. Crisp and sharp with those fine reflections. I guess this beach gets really busy on hot days.

Thanks everyone!

Ian - I like your mod, it does look brighter. Must investigate this Adobe rgb/ srgb thing... could this be why my pics look a bit dull after saving for web?

Chris - nice crop, inspired me to work on this a bit more!

Ange - must admit I did try brightening up the beach huts and prom, but I just couldn't get it to look natural.

Thanks again folks, and Big thank you to Pete for the HC

Kathy :o))))

Yep, if you don't convert from Adobe RGB to sRGB then it makes the shots look dull. Go to Image then select Mode and at the bottome is a "convert to profile" section. It should say that the current profile is Adobe RGB and then give the option to change the profile you want it to be converted to. Select SRGB.

On screen it will not look like anything has taken place but when you save for web it will save as SRGB.

You can check what it does by doing the following: leave as Adobe RGB and go to the View menu, Proof setup, and then select Monitor RGB. You should then see that the image on screen has gone flat/dull. That's basically showing what it will look like when viewed on the web. In the View menu just click on the "proof colours" tab and it will revert back to the Adobe colours. Now do the adobe to SRGB process and do click on monitor RGB and you shouldn't see the image change. That'll be what it looks like on the web.

This is from a PS 7 point of view - don't think Elements supports this.
