The eye on this is 'dead' as there is no catch light in it. Try selecting the eye and then sharpen it as it may be there but you can't see it. If it is not, you need to try putting one in! This would also have been better had you shot it in portrait rather than landscape. Having said that you could have selected the penguin's head, feathered it by a couple of pixels and then hit Control+J (if you have Photoshop and Windows XP). That would have put the selection on its own layer. You could then have copied and pasted the selection on a portrait orientated background. Resize as necessary with Ctrl+T (free transform) and hold down the Shift key to resize in proportion. Move with the Move Tool to where you want it.
