Male kestrel in flight

By MrsScattercushion1
I spent a day photographing wild kestrels at a farm in North Yorkshire. I've been using my current DSLR set up for less than a year and have previously struggled with birds in flight shots. Having a soft spot for all things raptor this provided an ideal opportunity for some excellent experience on both fronts

Thanks Ade and everyone else. I think the light, the closeness of the subject and the fact he was flying fairly straight towards me made it easier to track him and maintain the focus. Plus I'd the practice of about 6 hours photographing them to get my eye in!!
