mists of time

By keith selmes
Tall ships race, Torbay-Santander, a couple of weeks ago. From Berry Head, Brixham, very misty, the ship going into a stiff headwind, and the sea very lumpy, as it faded out of sight. No horizon or sky visible. This vessel has a similar rig to the Shabab Oman, which was entered, so maybe thats it.

Interesting shot. Almost ghostly.

Keith, were you at the end of Berry Head, or in the Berry Head hotel patio area with me?
Interested to know, we might be neighbours Smile

Waaay out on the cliff. Got chatting with a chap who is in a club at Torquay, and gave him the epz address. You certainy had a good view of the bigger ships.

Sue, Den, thanks, useful comments.

It was disappointing that the ships were hardly visible without the camera or binoculars. I hope we have sight of some next July (June?) when they return to the bay for the anniversary race.

Yes, hope to get there next year. I was just checking it out as I had a couple of hours to spare, had to whizz off to Newton Abbot then.
(I'm just on the east side of Plymouth). Didn't even see the very tall ships with sails down.

I think the mist has added a great effect to this shot Keith. Nice one!

I like the ghostly effect. A bit 'noisy' but that doesn't detract too much.
