Taken at Salcombe, South Devon on Saturday, this was the the last event for this season of the OCR offshore power boat racers. I was standing on the rocks, shooting into the sun and trying to deal with the glare off of the water...not ideal for photography, so had to do a few adjustments in photoshop. Any useful camera settings/comments for future reference are welcomed.

Hardest thing to do, had this alot when I was photographing the Zapcats, soon learnt to change my shooting position with the time of day to avoid the 'into the sun' shots with huge glare off the water

Maybe a polarising filter would help with reflections off the water.
(circular not linear).

Apologies if I am trying to teach my grandmother how to suck eggs.

Thanks for the info....sidaorb...impossible to change position on the day, would have meant a 12 mile round trip and then a treacherous 200 foot cliff to climb down, I am not fit enough to even contemplate that, but have learnt a lesson for next year!
Big_Beavis....The Nikkor 300mm f/2.8 I was using does have a built in filter, (at the camera end, would need to be a huge filter to fit the 'glass' end, not quite sure which filter though), would be interested to know if/where you can purchase others though?

As for teaching Granny........all help appreciated....Thanks
Regards to you both
